David "Dynamite" Lopez
Behind The Scenes
The Q1000 was hung above David to create a hard edge light. By attaching a PAR Reflector to the fixture, its beam was narrowed significantly to heighten its dramatic effect.
The Q500 was used with the para softbox as a fill light to complement the Q1000. For this shoot, the diffusion layers were removed from the softbox to maintain the wrap-around effect of its reflective interior without sacrificing the drama of a point source.
The P360 was used for the final sequence. Eight fixtures were hung around the ring to blanket the scene in light. A Q500 with a PAR reflector was suspended above the middle of the ring to give the action a hard, stylish edge.
Panasonic Lumix GH4
The video was shot entirely with the Panasonic Lumix GH4, using a shoulder mount and a 3 axis gimbal stabilizer to help get clean, smooth moving shots and a tripod to shoot the interview. Lightweight and versatile, the GH4 has been a great, user-friendly camera for getting high production value images on run n' gun shoots.
